Scholarships – 2019

The awarding of scholarships has been an integral part of our 113 year history.

Scholarships are available to all high school seniors who have resided in Shrewsbury for a minimum of two years and who are attending participating area high schools. These scholarships are presented to deserving high school seniors at our annual meeting in May.

General  Scholarships

Each year our Scholarship Committee holds major fund raising events to provide money for scholarships to deserving high school seniors. The amount and number of general scholarships vary by year depending upon the funding available and the qualifications of the students.

General Scholarships are based upon grades, school activities, community service, volunteer service, recommendations and personal statement.
Applicants can contact their school’s guidance office, or click here, for the General Scholarship application. For additional information or questions, click on our “Contact Us” tab to submit an email.

The Mary C. Griffin Scholarship

Established by the family of Mary C. Griffin in her memory and to honor her work in the community, this scholarship is awarded in recognition of a student’s citizenship and contribution to his/her school and community.  SWC Directors, in conjunction with the Griffin family, select the scholarship recipients.

Applicants can contact their school’s guidance office, or click here for the Mary C. Griffin Scholarship application. For additional information or questions, click on our “Contact Us” tab to submit an email.
